Government and Politics Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2250 words

Government and Politics - Essay Example However, to outsiders it can likewise be one of the most odd. The political race in certain nations including United Kingdom takes only half a month, yet US presidential sprinters embrace a political epic, arranging 'primaries', 'party shows' and an 'Appointive College' framework down the way (Bennett 2005, pg 270). In the UK, the gathering picks an up-and-comer, yet in the US, be that as it may, supporters who pronounce vote in favor of some gathering get the opportunity to pick from the rundown of applicants (Bennett 2005, pg. 270). The applicants, crusading contrary to different up-and-comers of a similar gathering, must win enough 'express primaries' to give them the most delegates at the gathering show in the mid year (pg. 271). A few states, for example, Iowa, utilize an 'assembly framework' as opposed to primaries to choose. While in primaries individuals just demonstrate at the vote box which applicant they support, assemblies (the word gets from an Indian word for a social event) are progressively mind boggling and work by choosing delegates through a few phases. That multifaceted nature was a result of the American's supposedforerunners' frenzy of despotism and the aching to protect the authority of individual States. There are, by and large, two sorts of primaries - open and shut. ... 272). As The 'political show' is especially an American conviction, one that is taken action against the ideological groups that have composed Americans' inclinations in administering for right around 175 years. Interestingly, political shows are not expressed in its Constitution. Positively, the precursors of America saw ideological groups with suspect or by and large resistance. However at this point, they can scarcely envision an administration without ideological groups, and the gatherings' shows are tremendous, communicated media occasions (Bennett 2005, pg. 273). Each State arrives at the lobby with its own agents and notices announcing which presidential candidate it underpins. Notwithstanding the 'absence of excitement' from the establishing fathers of the U.S. to acknowledge ideological groups, two had bounced back in certain times of the nation's start. These first gatherings were characterized with a free bunch, and it's precarious to discover precisely when they began. By the late nineties, nonetheless, these gatherings were getting progressively arranged and assuming a bigger job in American political undertakings. These days, presidential primaries have made the shows silly for useful reasons. They exist fundamentally as a 'selling instrument' and a political 'pre-game event', where each gathering imagines an all around arranged show. The adversary competitors square up for the presidential development appropriate. Approaches are cleaned, frequently to consider the supporters of the candidates who have been cleansed. This period of the battle is shorter than the trudge through the State primaries. There are overwhelming costs spent on TV builds up on a national scale, and there are routinely banters on TV between the candidates for Presidential decisions. In the end weeks, the up-and-comers all in all

Government Intervention in Venezuela’s Economy

Financial Commentary_1 The article: How would venezuela be able to be so wealthy in assets, however so low in provisions? By Douglas French/April 24, 2012 http://www. csmonitor. com/Business/The-Circle-Bastiat/2012/0424/How-can-Venezuela-be-so-rich-in-assets yet so-low-in-provisions To what expand do a country’s normal assets clarify whether customer products are on the nation’s racks for individuals to purchase. Venezuela is a prime case of this question. This is a nation having bounteous characteristic assets for it is one of the world’s top oil makers and plentiful in gold and different minerals, additionally the rich soil and calm atmosphere permit the nation for profitable agribusiness. Be that as it may, there are deficiencies of staple items like milk, meat and composing paper. This discourse centers around the principle reason causing this issue in Venezuela that is over intercession of the legislature towards the free market. So as to keep up the degree o f buyer costs, the leader of Venezuela forced value controls by setting the value ceilings.Government authorities guarantee â€Å"companies cause deficiencies intentionally, holding items off the market to push up costs. This month, the legislature required value cuts on organic product juice, toothpaste, dispensable diapers and in excess of twelve different items. † However, terrible outcomes of the value roofs set by the legislature were inescapable regarding deficiencies in gracefully, diminished market size, disposal of allocative proficiency and illegal businesses. In figure1. 1, the first market balance cost under the mediation of free market is at Pe where the amount requested and the amount provided are equal. After intercession of the focal government, a coupling value roof is set and the new market cost is made at Pmax where the amount provided is a lot of lower than amount requested. The falsely low cost has caused more interest for the item, therefore making a deve lopment from Qe along the interest bend to Qd. Simultaneously, makers slice creation because of the lower cost, descending along the gracefully bend from Qe to Qs. The separation among Qd and Qs shows a deficiency of the positive qualities in supply.Because of this, presently inhabitants in Caracas are compelled to depend on the once seven days conveyances made to government-financed stores. In addition, as figure1. 2 recommends, the hole among Qs and Qd makes a strain in the market. At Qs there are numerous buyers who would pay more than Pmax if Qs is available. These buyers may have a solid motivator to pick up the products and enterprises they need on the bootleg market. Therefore, the gracefully bend will shoot straight up at Qs and the cost will raise straight up by then high on the interest curve. This shows that some value roofs may really drive the cost higher than the first harmony and can be simply applied to the instance of Venezuela. Likewise, setting a most extreme value lower than the market balance cost will bring about a diminished market size as a portion of the organizations will be driven out of the market. The administration setting costs are unreasonably low for organizations to bring in cash so they either shorten creation or stop all together. As appeared in figure 2. 1, at first the maker overflow of the privately owned businesses, regarding benefit, determined by firms is appeared as the territory from the underlying business sector value line to the gracefully curve. After value controls by the administration, presently the new maker surplus is appeared as the zone from the new value line to the flexibly bend which is littler than previously and this mirrors a lower maker excess, in this manner a government assistance misfortune in the general public. Also, the value roofs dispose of an allocative effectiveness in the country’s economy in a serious market as it must be accomplished when the general public delivers a sufficient de cent so the minimal advantages is equivalent to the peripheral, as it were, maker flexibly and customer request meet at a market balance price.Due to intercession of the administration, value controls disenable society to get merchandise and ventures it needs most. As Times makes reference to, â€Å"some of the deficiencies are in businesses, similar to dairy and espresso, where the legislature has held onto privately owned businesses and is presently running them, saying it is in the national intrigue. † But the outcome of this activity is that the administration will transform the business sectors into restraining infrastructures as there would be just state proprietorship in these ventures, so there are no rivalries between different firms and customers won't have the option to procure substitutes in the markets. What’s more, while these enterprises are as a rule totally constrained by the focal organizer and make state responsibility for components of creation notwi thstanding the guide of Venezuela communist government, it will bring about the absence of individual property rights and motivator to accomplish most extreme effectiveness in the utilization of assets which describe private possession. To finish up, Venezuela is a regularly wealthy in assets however exceptionally low in provisions, value controls in the business sectors just as

Ho spitals that have staff who receive relevant training with helpful appraisal have low and a decreasing level of mortality rate with provision of quality care (Giltinane, 2013). Voting--The Pinnacle Of Democracy, Suffrage For All. While

Voting--the pinnacle of democracy, suffrage for all. While it took a couple of centuries for the United States to guarantee universal suffrage, we now have it, regardless of sex or race. The struggle of acquiring suffrage is a long history, one that we as Americans paradoxically praise and condemn, but it is history, and now we must look towards the future. Yet, Harvard Professor Dr. Judith Shklar argues otherwise in her lecture â€Å"Voting† where she navigates the history behind the long battle for universal suffrage in the United States. More importantly, she provokes the audience when she presents an unorthodox history of the struggle for suffrage: They[Americans] have seen them [voting and earning] as attributes of an American citizen†¦The†¦show more content†¦As a result, while both social status and standing are relative, the latter is seemingly more feasible than the other to obtain, especially with natural-rights theory as the foundation of American democracy. Later, Shklar mentions that â€Å"natural-rights theory makes it very difficult to find good reason for excluding anyone from full political membership† (Shklar 395). The result of having the theory of natural rights as the backbone is that anyone who is denied the vote would naturally be deprived of exercising their voice, or in another word, a slave. Eventually when the white manhood suffrage movement used the word slave, they would often not simply just refer to â€Å"reduced political independence†¦[but] the actual condition of most American blacks† (Shklar 396). Shklar highlights the fear and apathy that white men and consecutive suffrage groups had towards being a slave, one who is stripped of rights and humanity which are both synthesized into the vote. As she describes the fights for suffrage, Shklar will often bring up primary sources that shed light to the atmosphere at the time. Of course, this reflects the common characteristic of any academic, but this is not an academic paper where she is including her citations; this is a lecture that she is giving. Analysis Of The Poem By Sylvia Plath - 1421 Words

The poem Edge, written by Sylvia Plath, seems very much to be about a woman who is going to or will be committing suicide. This plot is very hard to identify the first few times reading the poem, but then becomes very recognizable. The author alluding to death in the first stanza is a very strong indicator that the women in the poem will be killing herself, which can be inferred through writing later in the poem. The story line follows that this woman has completed everything she wanted and now is her time to go. Sylvia Plath makes use of double entendre and literary devices throughout the poem Edge to suggest the main character in the story is going to take her own life, and maybe her children’s as well. The title of the poem immediately suggest to the reader that the topic is intense rather that subtle. Edge is written in third person, free verse, and structured in couplet stanzas adding to the sense of detachment. Third person is used so that the narrator can remain objective, and also better directs the reader towards the subject. It also always the narrator to say and mention information that the woman may not have if she was telling the poem herself. The use of third person in the poem is chosen, because it leaves the reader room to wonder if the woman is going to commit suicide. This short, choppy structure creates a feeling that the author is trying to get very down to the point. Sentences and ideas are separated between stanzas in the majority of the poem. Billy Held Sports Lit Miracle Essay 3/21/13 In the movie Miracle, one of the main characters Jim Craig faced many struggles on and off the ice. As a hockey goalie, Craig had a very important role. All his life, he played as goalie, and as he got older, he began to play for a different variety of teams eventually working his way up to play in the U. S. A. Winter Olympics in 1980. Throughout his hockey career, he faced the loss of his mother, who was very important to him because she encouraged him to forgo his hockey career. In the year of 1977, Craig’s mother, Margaret, passed away and his life was changed forever. His mother was a hockey nut and loved the game. She involved herself so much that she would even sharpen the hockey skates of the kids that were on her son’s team. However, Craig’s mother motivated him all his life to play hockey and after the passing of her, Craig decided to try out for the Winter Olympics in Lake Placid because that is what his mother wanted him to do. We will write a custom essay sample on Miracle Essay or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page After trying out, Craig made the team and would play as goalie in the 1980 Winter Olympics. After the passing of his mother Craig’s performance was not the same as it used to be. His family life was a big part of why he was not playing as good as he could. After the passing of his mother Craig’s father was not the same, he was not around as much. Craig was still just as good of a hockey goalie as he used to be, but never showed it on the ice. At the tryouts to play in the Winter Olympics, the coach, Herb Brooks, closely watched Craig. Brooks seen Craig’s performance during tryouts and knew it was not his best. However, Brooks previously watched film on Craig and knew what his capabilities were. For that reasoning, Craig deserved and earned the starting goaltender spot on the1980 USA Olympic team. After many games, Craig’s performance was finally improved. As Brooks formed his team for the USA Olympics, he put the team to many tests to see what players would be physically and mentally strong enough to play in the USA Olympics. Such as a 300 question psychological test that proved a players mental capabilities. He refused to take his tests because he did not understand how taking a psychological test would prove his ability to stop a puck during the game. After Craig proved his point, Herb Brooks knew Craig would be the starting goaltender for the USA Winter Olympic team. As the starting goaltender in the USA Winter Olympics, Craig’s performance was phenomenal. If it weren’t for Craig’s outstanding performance, the USA team would have had a tougher time with the comebacks they needed to make to win the games. The underdog in the majority of games in the USA Winter Olympics was the United States; they were always coming from behind to win the games. This was a struggle for Craig. As the starting goalie for the team Jim Craig by far had the most stress. If the starting goalie did not have a good game how would he help leads his team to victory. In the movie Miracle, one of the main characters Jim Craig faced many struggles on and off the ice. As a hockey goalie, Craig had the most important role on the team. He nearly had to be flawless in every game to give his team the best chance of winning. And, he did. Craig gave his best performance and led his team to victory many times and eventually winning the gold medal.

Soundtrack of my life Music is one of the greatest and most influential devices that we as humans deal with on a day to day basis. It plays such an Important role In our lives and helps build character without us ever thinking twice about it. In todays society there are so many types and genres of music that you can find a song for any type of mood that youre in. Music has the power to bring thousands of people from opposite walks of life together. When I stop and think about the songs that bring up the best memories It creates a wide spectrum of genres. Ranging from Garth Brooks the Thunder Rolls to classical Eave Maria, to Bone Thug N Harmony and Sweetish Rock band by the name of Evolvable. The list of songs to come not only have personal stories behind each and every one of them, but they also tell a timeline from my earliest memories as a child growing up with three older brothers, to the highs and lows of being a teenager In high school, and to spending a year in Afghanistan. We will write a custom essay sample on Soundtrack of My Life or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Being the youngest of 4 boys growing up I didnt get to make a whole lot of decisions for myself, and to be honest I didnt really care I Just rolled along with whatever Jake, Kyle, and Ante wanted to do. Growing up In the country and living on a farm we naturally became conditioned to listening to country music. At that time Garth Brooks was the country artist hot on the scene. I can remember watching some of his music videos on TV and thinking that he was the coolest guy ever. One of my greatest memories with my brothers is Garth Brooks had a live concert on TV and all of us boys decided to put on a concert of our own. E all ran to the garage and grabbed instruments that could be used as guitars and drum sticks and then raced wrought the house, meanwhile ignoring moms yelling of no running in the house, and then back down stairs as fast as we could for the start of the concert. As the concert went on my brothers and I were Jamming away on our fake musical instruments when the song Thunder Rolls came on. I can vividly remember watching Garth Brooks walking on stage, and at the start of the song it was pouring down rain and lightning flashes were going off everywhere and I couldnt believe what I was seeing. As a kid I sat there awestruck with amazement watching his every event believing he was in an actual thunderstorm. Seeing Garth Brooks standing there soaking wet from head to toe has left a forever image in mind that will always associate and think of when I listen to his music. Growing up as a young boy I could remember that whenever I would be In the car or somewhere near a radio station, mom wo uld always have country music playing and I believe thats where I get my love for country music from.On the flip side with dad, he introduced me to the world rock. Great artist such as Guns N Roses, Lanyard Snared, and AC/DC. The song from the classic rock genre of music that has really stuck with me Is Free Bird by Lanyard Snared. Free Bird was my getaway song, the song that put me at ease whenever I needed to relax from the stressful life 1 OFF friends. As we all know, these are troubling times in a young boys life and Free Bird was always there to bring me back down to earth. In the short 10 to 15 years that I have been able to really comprehend what music is, there have been very few songs that have really given me goose bumps. Once again a country artist by the name of Toby Keith came out with a song in 2003 entitled American Soldier. As every young boy does, they think and will argue about having the coolest dad in the world, but no, really I do. I can remember sitting in my parents bedroom late on Sunday nights and Just wait for my super hero dad come walking in, in his black and green army uniform with his dark as night glistening combat boots.Seeing him walk through that doorway would be the highlight of my weekend. In Toby Kiths song he describes the American Soldier by saying I cant call in sick on Mondays when the weekends been to strong, I Just work straight wrought the holidays and sometimes all night long, You can bet that I stand ready when the wolf growls at the door, hey Im solid, hey Im steady, Im true down to the core. To me those lyrics perfectly portray what I see in my dad, so every time I hear that song I cant help but think about him and get goose bumps again.By the time high school rolled around I had made it through my embarrassing boy band phase and found myself listening to the likes of NAS, Kenya West, Outcast, and my absolute favorite Bone Thug N Harmony. Every day after school let out my rather An te and I would meet up at his green 94 Ford Ranger with pins in the hood, dents in the dumpers, and scrapes in the siding, as we headed to another day of soccer practice. While on the way we would blast our Bone Thug and pathetically attempt to try and rap along. We used the lyrical talent of artist like Outcast, Kenya, and Bone Thug to get is ready for another sweat pouring, muscle aching, tiresome practice. Just to turn around and to do the exact same routine again the next day. For many young adults, college can be a confusing time in their lives. My first go round at college Ill Wayne was the new biggest coolest artist on the scene and rap was becoming ever more popular. Instead of flocking toward the rap music like most college kids did at the time, I moved in a different direction.A direction that you normally dont find among the young college scene, and that was toward classical, opera, and piano music. Even till this day I cant pin point exactly what it is about classical, opera and piano music that intrigues me so much. I think that part of my attraction to this style of music is that I find it very relaxing and mind calming. There eave been numerous covers of Eave Maria, and my favorite would have to be done by Franz Schubert. This is where the start of my new appreciation of music began. It wasnt until I listened to Franz Schubert singing Eave Maria that I really listened carefully and opened my eyes to the pure God given talent and beauty of her voice and I found that immensely more satisfying to listen to instead of something that would of been created in a studio. Now I currently enjoy listening to musicians like Michael Bubble and North Jones and have gained an appreciation for the artists who use their true vocal talents. Furthermore, during my first stint in college I Joined the military and was deployed to Afghanistan in 2012.The life of a soldier is pretty single and strait forward. You wake up and go to work. Whatever you want to do before and after work is up to you, Everyone has that genre of music or artist that will get them pumped up and ready, like most soldiers, I get wound up by loud, fast pace music that gets that red fluid inside me boiling. Through a fellow soldier I was introduced to a Swedish metal group called Evolvable, which I surprisingly enjoyed because it is the complete opposite Tyler of music that I enjoy. For the remainder of the deployment when I visited the gym, Evolvable and Avenge Sevenfold served as my constant to get me through my workouts. No one knows what our futures will hold. We have no idea what kind of trials and triumphs lie awaiting us. One thing that we can bank on is music. Music is one of the very few constants that pass by from generation to generation. A world without music would be a creature that I would never like to see. When we scour the caverns of our brain some of our greatest memories are associated with music.Im a firm believer in hat everything happens for a reason because it shapes the type of person we are today. The same thing applies with music. Looking back over my life, there was a phase for each type of genres of music that I listened to. In my 23 years, my musical interest have ranged from country, to boy band, to rock, to classical and metal and I dont think I would be the exact way I am today without having all of those music genres in my life. In 23 years I have created so many great memories through music and I can only hope that God blesses me with another 23 years to make more memories.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder essays

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder essays Stress is an every-day aspect of our life. From day-to-day stressors such as raising children, dealing with careers, dealing with our significant others, driving in traffic, we are continually bombarded with actions and consequences that place stress in our lives. Many of us have come to accept these stressors as normal, and most of us have adapted, even though we may feel a need to take it one day at a time. Yet, in extreme cases, such as wars or other traumatic experiences, dealing with these stressors becomes a life-long ordeal. Persons dealing with severe stress reactions from traumatic experiences, such as wars, long after the incident occurred, have what is called Post-traumatic stress disorder. This anxiety disorder, affecting not only current and past war veterans but also those that have been exposed to any traumatic life event, has been studied in depth and forms of treatment, from group therapy to drug therapy, have been used to treat the maladies associated with this disorder. Post-traumatic stress disorder is defined as the condition caused by extremely stressful experiences in which the person later experiences anxiety and irritability(Lahey). In addition, the website belonging to the National Center for PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) further defined PTSD as a psychiatric disorder that can occur following the experience or witnessing of life-threatening events such as military combat, natural disasters, terror incidents, serious accidents or violent person assaults like rape. The website goes on to explain that persons suffering from this disorder have trouble sleeping and feel detached from the rest of society. Also, the disorder can occur in conjunction with other psychophysical disorders such as depression, substance abuse, and problems with memory and cognition (www.ncptsd.org). In addition, social/family issues also ...

Effective, Efficient, Effectual, and Efficacious

Effective, Efficient, Effectual, and Efficacious Effective, Efficient, Effectual, and Efficacious Effective, Efficient, Effectual, and Efficacious By Maeve Maddox My recent post on cost-effective and cost-efficient garnered a couple of emails from readers who suggested that I might not be aware that effective and efficient have different meanings. Despite the difference between the words effective and efficient when used alone, once the word cost is added to them to produce cost-effective and cost-efficient, the meaning of both compounds appears to be economical or cost-saving. I’d welcome the input of an economist who could provide contexts to show a difference in meaning between the compounds, if one in fact exists. Effective and efficient, on the other hand, belong to a group of adjectives relating to the idea of getting results. Their similarity in meaning is clear in these OED definitions: effective: Powerful in effect; producing a notable effect; effectual. efficient: Productive of effects; effective; adequately operative. effectual: That produces its intended effect, or adequately answers its purpose. efficacious: That produces, or is certain to produce, the intended or appropriate effect; effective. Like the readers who wrote to me, I see a significant difference between effective and efficient. I understand efficient to mean, â€Å"marked by ability to choose and use the most effective and least wasteful means of doing a task or accomplishing a purpose.† For example, burning the house down to get rid of termites would be effective, but not efficient. Here are some examples of suggested usage based on a note in the Oxford American Writer’s Thesaurus: Use effective to describe something that produces a definite effect or result. Antony proved that he was an effective speaker by rousing the rabble against the men who killed Caesar. Use efficient when the intention is to imply skill and economy of energy in producing the desired result. POEM COMMENTARY Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

POEM COMMENTARY - Essay Example When health fails, it is again the involvement of the people around one that concerns one the most: "Everyone is after me to take it easy./ They all make doctors' appointments for me, eyeing me in that quizzical way." The attitude of people around a seriously ill person begins to change, the "quizzical" looks are part of an effort to deal with the nearby prospect of mortality. When confronted by evidence of an illness, one goes into denial: "Everyone is spotting oddnesses/ in my innards, suddenly shocked/ by radio-awful diagrams.I do not agree". Neruda correctly diagnoses the human weakness of not wanting to face facts, and most importantly, not wanting to face the transient nature of existence and the cold touch of death. The same weakness of not knowing and acknowledging the truth about human existence, plagues people when things are not going so well professionally: " Everyone is picking at my poetry/ with their relentless knives and forks,/ trying, no doubt, to find a fly./ I am afraid." This confession of fear is uncharacteristic of people in general but the poet Neruda takes the first step towards confronting his fears: accepting that he is afraid.

3.Meads Coming of Age in Samoa is often read as an attempt to Essay

3.Meads Coming of Age in Samoa is often read as an attempt to popularize anthropology, but to what extent did it also extend and develop it - Essay Example It is evident that Mead’s success in anthropology research depended on a firm foundation laid by Boaz on the discipline. She managed to extend Boaz’s ambition of making anthropology universal by sharing information she gained through books and doing extensive research on Boas pioneered disciplines such as cultural anthropology, nature versus nurture issues, emotional turbulence and biological development and adolescent issues. Boas maintained a viewpoint that human nature and the actions people portray emanate from civilization constraints. To ascertain his theory, Boas instructed Mead to establish if the poignant stress and turmoil that American adolescents in Samoa undergo had cultural or biological influence. Mead researched on Boas hypothesis by working as an ethnographer in American Samoa (Margaret, n.d., p. 54). In response, Mead launched an investigation in the Island of Samoa living among the society members and fulfilling all their cultural requirements as she compiled results on adolescents’ girls’ behaviors within Samoa. Mead recorded an analysis of her results in book â€Å"Coming of Age in Samoa†, published in 1928. In her study results, Mead established that youth concerns were neither constraining nor stressful among Samoan teenagers and adults. She carried out the research to from twenty-five teenage women in three villages of Samoa. Her comments indicated that the perceived time and stress, which adolescents’ experience, are because of cultural restraints. Mead’s comments supported the view that young people from different social and cultural arrangements within Samoa were free from caused stress characters that are characteristic of adolescence stage of development. Stress-free adolescence was because of total casualness or lack of concern towards youth issues. Adolescence stress was limited to and experienced by royal families such as chief’s wives and daughters. On the contrary, ordinary girls from

The Activation Energy of Bromide ion and Bromate ion :: Chemical Reactions Reaction Rates Essays

The Activation Energy of Bromide ion and Bromate ion To Determine the Activation Energy of the Reaction between Bromide ion and Bromate (V) ion in Acid Solution Objectives: By reacting Potassium Bromide and Potassium Bromate in the acid solution in varies temperature, we can then determine the Activation Energy of the reaction in different temperature through the equation:[IMAGE]. Questions: 1. Give an equation for the reaction between phenol and bromine. 2. What is the use of methyl orange in this experiment? The methyl orange is used as an indicator for the reaction. Bromine will be produces during the reaction and it will react with phenol rapidly. Once all the phenol is used up, further bromine produced will bleach the methyl orange immediately. So the rate of the reaction can be calculated from the time for the indicator to be decolorized. 3. Based on your results, is it advisable to perform the experiment at high temperatures such as 80à ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã†â€™? From the above results, the time of the reaction is shorter as the experiment temperature increase. So it is not advisable to perform the experiment at high temperatures as the time of reaction is too short, it is not easy for us to record. 4. Why is it not necessary to know how far the reaction has proceeded at the point where the methyl red is decolourized? In the experiment, the number of mole and the molarity of each chemicals used are the same. And the appearance of the pink colour only determines that there are some content of the reaction has processed. As the result, it is only necessary for us to compare the time required for the reaction mixture to reach the point the decolourization occurs at different temperature. 5. The Arrhenius equation can be represented as: (a) Can substitute k in this equation? Why? Can substitute k in this equation. As in the above experiment, the initial rate can be represented by due to the constant concentration of the reactants. Also the rate constant k is proportional to the rate of the reaction when the temperature changes.

Case Study: System Development Essay

System development is a process in which programmers with organization contribution write codes to solve a problem that face the organization system or automate a procedure. There are three major systems development techniques that been used to solve systems’ problems. The system development techniques are SDLC (Systems Development Life Cycle), JAD (Joint Application Development), and RAD (Rapid Application Development). SDLC provides tools for controlling details within large development projects that solve structured problems. JAD enables the identification, definition, and implementation of information infrastructures. RAD supports the iteration and flexibility necessary for building robust business process support(Osborn, 1995). In this case study, the manager been asked to design, develop, and install a Patient Management Information System for a medical clinic in which three physicians practice general medicine. This system has to be operational in 6 months. There is one individual in the clinic staff who is reasonably well informed about information technology. Thus, the manager needs to determine which system development methodologies will use to solve this problem. To choose the appropriate development system, the manager need to use a process which consists of s (1) defining requirements, (2) designing an information system to fit those requirements, (3) building the code to deliver that system, and (4) testing to see whether the code works and the system does the job it was intended to do(Osborn, 1995). The requirement for this case study is to design and develop and install a Management Information System for a medical clinic that has three physicians within 6 months. Based on that, this process will take longer if we use the SDLC which is the traditional method that need narrative descriptions, data definitions, and sample screens. Moreover, producing a thorough, often multi-volume description of system requirements can become such a time-consuming task that it begins to extend the expected life of a development project. On the other hand, JAD tends to rely on data models to provide requirements definition and prototypes to capture final design details. The data modeling can produce thorough system specifications more quickly than SDLC narratives, especially through the use of computer-aided software engineering (CASE) tools. The RAD relies on a series of iterative prototypes to specify and document requirements. The technique reverses the scheduling emphasis normally found in SDLC projects by setting a rolling series of release dates and dynamically adjusting system features to fit. Iterating prototypes gives requirements the opportunity to evolve and the flexibility to change if needed(Osborn, 1995). Since the project is for small clinic, which mean that the budget is limited. SDLC to the use of expensive mainframes to understand transactions, JAD to the need for managing data distribution following the advent of minicomputers, and RAD to the development of business process support based on networked client/server workstations. SDLC provides tools for controlling details within large development projects that solve structured problems. JAD enables the identification, definition, and implementation of information infrastructures. RAD supports the iteration and flexibility necessary to building robust business process support. Thus, based on the information that discussed earlier, I recommend using the RAD method because the clinic is small one which needs inexpensive system and the system will need support especially that there is only one person who informed about using information technology. In addition, the time limits that clinic has will fit also the RAD method. Literature showed that RAD proves most useful for systems support of unstructured business processes. This not means that this system will limit the business because when the business grows up the system can move for more structure system(Osborn, 1995).
